During your eye exam, we will check for any conditions that could affect your ability to wear contact lenses and determine your contact lens prescription, which is different from your eyeglass prescription.
Once we confirm you’re a suitable candidate, we will measure your eyes to find the best fit. Using a corneal topographer, we take precise measurements of the curvature of your eye, helping us choose the most comfortable and stable contact lens.
With this information, we can order the contact lenses that we believe will work best for you. These sample lenses will be used as a starting point for your future fitting.
During a separate visit, you’ll have the chance to trial the contact lenses in the office. The optometrist will make any necessary adjustments to ensure the best vision. You’ll then be given sample lenses to wear for a few days to check for comfort and fit. If you’re happy with the fit and performance, we’ll finalize your prescription. If the sample lenses aren’t quite right, don’t worry—we may need to try a few different options to find the perfect fit.
